Re: 2020 "Snaps" Around Glacier National Park

I was thinking the snow covered peaks in the distance must look awesome, but not translate to an image well. And then I was surprised you're hiking in snow. Nice shots. It's very cool you're getting out so much this year. We stayed in the camper last night and woke up to light snow. That was surpris...

Re: September 2020

I finally got around to reading your trip report. Thanks for posting and I enjoyed it. Sorry about the smoke. I'm amazed you were getting up so early and still running into crowds.

Re: 2020 "Snaps" Around Glacier National Park

When you posted these before, the sunset caught my eye, but I was literally scrolling through, not stopping and not reading. Hence, no comment. Some of the other photos have what I’d call subtle beauty. So you could stare for a while at a big pic, but the web is not made for those images. Still nice...

Deb, thanks for posting. It seems you have good knowledge of the area and can spot wildlife. I just find buffalo and cars.

Hope it wasn't too cold.

Re: 2020 "Snaps" Around Glacier National Park

Hey, after getting out of the big house, I'm back on the block. :D Pete, you don't like the sky eh? How about: https://i.postimg.cc/zXy88V3m/Pete-s-image-1.jpg I prefer the brooding, dark moody B&W, so how about: https://i.postimg.cc/C1FXxLHp/Pete-s-image-BW.jpg The later is using the plugin I sent ...

Re: 2020 "Snaps" Around Glacier National Park

Looks like Pete made it to the saddle between Pollock and Piegan. Here's a couple photos from about 2 hrs ago. https://i.postimg.cc/Hk5SHG15/image000000-1.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/gJr8zRL5/image000001-1.jpg The wonders of modern technology. Re: Beartooth Pass

Thanks for the info. Not surprising given that the road would be really difficult driving in an appropriate vehicle. That Labor Day trip I was talking about....when I drove home, there was ice on the road. I stopped to take some pictures and the car slid to a stop. As I was driving down to Red Lodge...

Re: 2019 Sep Trip

BTW Pete, thanks for the comments on the writing. The website hardly has any hits, like 9, so it's good to know someone's reading it. I'll have to send a link to my brothers. That'll increase the number to 10. When I watch videos on travel trailers, the few I've viewed have the same formula. "Here's...

Re: 2019 Sep Trip

Taking a snack break from washing vehicles... Damn I hate to hear about people going down on motorcycles. So many ride without protective clothing or helmets. On a bicycle, I get it. On a motorcycle, I don't get it. No comment on boss lady, I'm just sayin' it's dangerous worth some precaution. Anywa...

Re: 2020 "Snaps" Around Glacier National Park

Pete, glad you had some clouds to work with and condolences on the notch. Damn. The panos look good except the HDR one :D but yeah, keep 'em coming. Those clouds! I have a feeling the weather took or is taking a big turn, so I think your timing was good. We have the camper out in front of the house ...

Beartooth Pass

A number of years ago, I went to the Beartooth Pass area over Labor Day. It was cold and rainy. Ugh, but I think it's hard to top this forecast. Labor Day Rain showers before noon, then snow showers. Temperature falling to around 19 by 5pm. North wind 18 to 24 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. T...

Re: 2019 Sep Trip

Hey Matt, Thanks for the kind words. Fusions are no fun. My Dad had three back surgeries, and I'm sure at least one was a fusion. (All three?) My brother has had one, and years later, is still not doing great. The other brother has avoided the knife, but has had lifelong back problems. So I just ass...

Pete,

Still enjoying the photos and commentary. G e t y o u r a s c i i up to Iceberg Notch. Rain or shine. After all these years, you'll appreciate seeing something new in Glacier, and it'll give ya the willies looking down.
