Re: 2020 "Snaps" Around Glacier National Park

When I worked in the darkroom, I'd print and view, then print a little different and view, and repeat ad nausium. I did the same thing with a pair of printers and digital images, but I got tired of keeping the nozzles clean and they died. Anyway, one of the problems with sending out your printing is...

Re: Is This Bad News For Glacier Fans?

Hopefully flying will get back to normal and everyone will go to Disneyland and 6-flags.

Re: 2020 "Snaps" Around Glacier National Park

The purple-pink is a color you don't see in the Midwest. Money shot. Looks great. I'm a "hot sleeper." So I like it warm in the winter and have a hard time sleeping if I'm cold. I don't think I'd do well outdoors. Looked like you had it wired with the various layers. Jay 31 miles on the skis today. ...

Re: An Oldie

Another really nice image ND. I too really miss the days of simply driving to the park and getting in a campground. I'm not sure what the hell happened, but it's hard not to be driven away by the crowds.

Re: 2020 "Snaps" Around Glacier National Park

Now we're talking. The snow looks great. Glad to see you're getting out and it makes me want to make the drive out. Are those skier made tracks? They look a little narrow, but the direction (lack of wobble) look like a track setter. What happened to the hair? :D You should see me. I look like a mt. ...

Re: 2020 "Snaps" Around Glacier National Park

Pete, I like the sunset pics and that you're cooking a steak at Apgar. Nice idea. Before checking out the chat, I was looking at traction devices. Seems appropriate. Glad you're mostly ok. About a month ago I was rollerskiing on a trail I know well. They put a 6" wide trench across the trail this su...

Re: 2020 "Snaps" Around Glacier National Park

I see why you hang out in that section of the creek. It's photogenic. Keep 'em coming. I'm gonna try for some Christmas lights tonight. Also, I've been wanting to try some time lapse photos, but I haven't actually tried it yet. (My camera and Go Pro actually, both have the built in features.) I like...

That's a nice yellow-orange. Kind of like a dumpster fire. :D :D it has a look like film, which makes it more impressive on a few levels.

Re: 2020 "Snaps" Around Glacier National Park

Nice shots Pete. I haven't figured out a good solution for cold hands. A few years ago I bought some of the old school hand warmers that run on lighter fluid. Never used 'em. (I should pull them out and give them a whirl. I've used the chemical hand warmers but they don't do a lot. A nearby car is u...

Re: 2020 "Snaps" Around Glacier National Park

Well, cloudy weather is great weather for B&W, just sayin'. But I hear ya if it's windy. It's not much fun to take pictures in the wind. I'm kind of surprised that the park has that much snow. We've also had snow, but warm weather has eroded it away. it's still hanging on up north. No sign of Bonnie...

Re: 2020 "Snaps" Around Glacier National Park

Damn......the picture I find interesting is that pile of great and large photos sitting on the floor. Jealous.

Sometimes it's hard to battle the wind, particularly when it's cold.

Re: Diving Accident at Lake McDonald

At this point in the year, I'd say they're diving with lights unless they only gong down 10-20 feet. Also, some people want to do a "night dive." That said, everything is easier in daylight. Sure hope they had drysuits, but when I see young age, I doubt it. I froze my ass off in a spring dive in Lak...

Re: 2020 "Snaps" Around Glacier National Park

What I like about the first one is the feeling that it's so cold. So it's the blue rock and blue water that I like. B&W? I think it would be fine but not unusual.

That last one is great.

Re: Thinking Out Loud for 2020

So I’m curious if there are any rumors of people hiking on the east side. So maybe start at Logan and hike into Swiftcurrent Valley (this past summer). Or East Glacier into Two Med. Yeah, I know you’re not supposed to do that but it seems like enforcement was missing this year. The other thing is I ...

I like the first one, particularly the color on the foreground rock.
