Oof. Agree with Jay - hopefully the thrill will pass and they will return to other travel plans. Time will tell...

Re: Latest 2020 Season Opening News

Pete, We don't live there, but I have seen the same. We came to Glacier for the first time in 2005. I made our plans about 6 months before and had my choice of in-park accomodations. The only delays on GTTS road were for construction. The trails were open, and you could always find a spot at any trai...

Re: No porcupines

Interesting article, and very pretty albino porcupine. We don't have them around here (NC), so I don't have any conflicting feelings: They are cute to me because they are not chewing up my shovels and fences.

That was really great. Beautiful sunset views. Wish I was fit (and young) enough to run along that route.

Re: Remembering Hockey Ref

Thank you for remembering Hockey Ref. He contributed so much to this site with his posts and Q&A document. I hate that I was never able to attend a Chatter meet-up.

Re: Sperry Chalet Photos, 2020

Thanks for all the amazing pictures. It looks like they did a really nice job with the interior rebuild. I'll bet you could have auctioned off the other sleeping accomodations in your room for a nice price! Beautiful time of year to be in GNP.

Re: 2019 Sep Trip

I read your site - and actually forwarded it to a friend who is considering a trip to Glacier. So you should see at least a 20% increase in volume this week.

Re: Griz chases hikers near Hidden Lake

My husband reminds me that he doesn't have to outrun the bear. He just has to outrun me! Seriously, a reminder to talk to everyone in the family about what to do in the event of a bear encounter. The kids need to know how to react, as well. And that the recommendation for black vs. grizzly bears is ...

:D It looks kind of like that trail with the trees and the green plants growing on either side of it. You know the one! :D

Re: Mountain lion encounter

I think the video is from 2015 (if you view it in YouTube, that's when it was posted). Hope the cat got some care for his abscess. Not sure why it made the rounds on the internet now. I got a notice about it, as well, this morning and watched the video embedded in the article. Then I thought the to ...

Re: Xanterra Website Reservations Horrible

I think the PineTop rooms are at Swiftcurrent. I have stayed in them before, but it was back when Glacier Park Inc was the concessionaire there. They were perfectly fine when I stayed (2008 or 2009) and my guess is Xanterra has given them a facelift so they have newer furniture and carpet. It's a gr...

Re: One Star Glacier Reviews

Sadly, many of these comments are probably legit. I can see people who are used to Theme Park accomodations expecting similar rooms in Glacier. Nonetheless, agree that hopefully people will see this article and head to Orlando instead.
