Re: All About Babb

About 20 years ago, the Babb bar was featured on the front page of the WSJ, as the baddest cowboy bar in the US. There was a steak house called the Supper Club next door. Owned and operated by Bob Burns.

Re: Fishing in the Backcountry

I carry a fly rod and a spin reel and spoons and spinners if it's windy. The spin reel fits the fly rod. I like rooster tails, dark bodies w gold. The larger fish hang out where the water gets deep.

Re: Zebra mussel boat restrictions

First off, I completely support the efforts to keep mussels out of the lakes. But as a local 14' skiff owner it's a bummer. The only lakes my boat has ever been in are the upper and lower St Mary lakes. Not even Duck lake. So I'm hoping that after a year or so there might be an exemption for boats l...

Re: Eastside snow

Yes thanks. I'm a little concerned about the outside stairs and the front deck. The roof is pretty steep so the snow will slide off but the weight of 5 plus ft of snow will probably be close to maxing out the deck. If there is a problem it will just give me an excuse to go out early this year. Got a...

Eastside snow

Latest storm dropped 4 feet of snow between the Park and browning area. A rancher in heart butte says it's the most he's ever seen.

Story in today's NYTimes by Dayton Duncan, writer and producer of 'national parks, America's best idea', entitled 'are we loving our national parks to death?' He writes generally about the balance between access and preservation, but calls GNP his favorite park.

Re: Sun Point "Permanent" Closure

We like to go there for sunsets. Also a good place to take folks that don't like to hike a lot. A good place to see how far you can lean into the wind w/out falling.
