altitude

altitude is not an issue in glacier on the trails. which is one of the good things about the park. great relief but low altitude.

gtts wrecks

seriously, i'm told, by locals that certain wrecks that go way down the slope and are out of sight, are camoflaged(sp?) maybe they are pulling my leg, but i doubt it.

seems like some drunk locals went over the edge last year near the loop. i understand that the park service paints the wrecks green and brown so that they blend in to the mountainside. too expensive to haul some of the wrecks out.

june visit

june is a great month in glacier. the park is wet and green. valley flowers are amazing. not crowded. sun road will probably be open.

yes, we booked the italy trip last week. 4-27 thru 5-7. we will probably come out to stmary/babb memorial day weekend to open up. glad to hear the eastside has had good moisture this winter. i don't like smoke.

good to see the snow on the eastside. i read that january was the wettest in history in west glacier but saw little precip around st mary. i'll head back out in may. had my 30th anniversary and my wife wants to take a trip. i said MT! she says italy, of all places. i've never been to europe, i guess...
