Is that snow that I see on the Visitor Center roof in the Logan Pass webcam?

Yup, they said on the news, it could be 6-10" by the evening on Friday, I think they are being optimistic because of the season we have had, but any snow at this time will help this year.

Never thought I would see people on the Chat dancing for snow  but it has been that kind of year.

Hoping that changes.

52 degrees in West Glacier today. Sprinklers running 24 hours a day. Been packed
ready to evacuate for a few weeks now (almost forgot to pack the flask!).

Snow, baby, snow!

You should be ashamed of yourself. :D

Glad the fire didn't make the predicted run with the high winds. Stay safe.

FWIW....
I'm out here by the airport as I post this at 430pm. No rain around here yet either.
Looking up towards Bad Rock Canyon(and GNP) doesn't look too promising for rain either--at least now.
Still windy here with smoke.
Y'all better work some more on that rain dance routine 8)

It looks like most of the rain/snow is SE of us.. sigh.

Happy for the folks down that way though. Lots of fires getting some moisture.

No precipitation here overnight and none coming today looking at radar and satellite images.
Looking at the web cams, there's a dusting of snow at Logan Pass but it's still smokey at Lake McDonald.

Same west of Whitefish. Not. One. Drop.

Looks like our best chance of rain is a few days away. Unfortunately that is a familiar pattern. Always a few days away...but never arrives.

I'm really surprised that Weyerhauser opened their lands to the public again based on a forecast that didn't come to fruition.

On the Rocky Mountain Front north of Choteau we received almost .80 inches of rain as of 10 AM Friday morning. And this morning (elevation 4,100 feet) there is snow mixed with rain. Over 1.25 inches so far in Great Falls. The Alice Creek fire is reportedly receiving snow over the entire fire area. I'm hoping the same for the Scalp, Strawberry and Crucifixion fires at the north end of the Bob. If we get the second rain/snow mix that is forecast for next week those fires will be contained or controlled. That's definitely good news.

Coming out on the 24th for a week. Hopefully most of the smoke will be gone by then.
The relatively big snows of this past winter had zero effect. Summertime weather forecast for the northwest was completely wrong.

A nice steady, moderate rain falling in WF now. This should put the damper on the Sprague fire for sure.
Assuming this rain is wide spread..and I believe it is.
