Sperry Chalet update

link to article in the Inter Lake. Since Sperry Chalet is no longer available for lodging, I am assuming that any articles on the rebuilding or not rebuilding of the Chalet should be in the General topic section but if I am mistaken Dave or one of the other moderators can move it:

Just got this email
Sperry Chalet, Next 100 Years Project
Meet & Greet with Project Architects

Tuesday, March 13
6:30 - 8:30 PM Mountain Time

The Glacier National Park Conservancy, in partnership with Glacier National Park will host a public open house on March 13 at the Cedar Creek Lodge Grand Ballroom in Columbia Falls from 6:30 - 8:30 pm with Anderson Hallas Architects.

Anderson Hallas is the design and architecture firm that has been selected to lead the conceptual design effort for the Sperry Chalet, the Next 100 Years project. The chalet dormitory building was badly burned during the Sprague Fire on August 31, 2017.

Anderson Hallas will introduce their firm, expertise and experience. They will lead an informative discussion about Sperry Chalet historic architecture, and site and project considerations they will take into account moving forward. The public will have an opportunity to talk with the conceptual design team, learn more about their design approach, and leave comments about four action concepts released in a scoping newsletter earlier this month. Finally, the architects will outline next steps in the conceptual design planning process.

This event will be simulcast on Facebook Live.

Public comment is currently being sought on the proposed Sperry Chalet project. People interested in reading more about the project and who wish to comment should visit

The comment period will be open until April 2, 2018.

They've come up with a plan.

Demo the April 18 paper. (Hope that works.)
