I am grateful to a dear Montana friend who has been watching and saving photos from this cam and sent me several from yesterday, including one with the bear leaving the den to go sit on the branch. He says he hasn't seen the bear there since...

The bear was in the tree Sunday morning at 11 am. I got this hilarious screenshot of it's paw sticking out of the hole.

Sorry for the link that you have to click on. I tried to get the photo to show directly but couldn't figure out how to do it. I just uploaded the screenshot into my google photos account thinking that would work. I've deleted my entire photobucket account so can no longer go that route and I haven't decided yet what other service to use.

The bear was out briefly yesterday afternoon in the snow. Photos from the webcam were not clear because of the snow coming down, but you could see it moving about the upper left part of the tree then back in.

Welcome to the chat. :D
That bear will probably stay inside today. 8)
21F and 20-30mph wind is blowing it sideways out here by the airport as I type. Visibility 《 1/4 mile.
I doubt conditions are any better in Apgar.
Pics and video later.

Thank you.

Saw the bear do a stretch out on the rim of the den a bit ago, and then back in. Looking for more activity tomorrow.

I see the bear moving around a bit in the opening over the last few minutes(11:52MST)
Maybe he/she/they will come out. Raining a little but that won't bother a bear.

Lots of bear activity yesterday evening and in the last hour. It went out on the closest limb last night and a few minutes ago. Lots of hanging the front legs out of the den and looking around. It is chewing smallest branches - must be getting hungry. So fun to watch.

The Park Service has now closed the Bearcam to provide the bear with privacy from park visitors.
