Thanks for dropping by and responding, Joey! I understand the backcountry has you 90% of the time.
I've been re-reading the Yellowstone section (one of them) of Doug Peacock's Grizzly Years. In these pages he's not far from the Thorofare, watching bears, and about to head up to Montana, to serve as a guide for a biologist ground tracking a collared bear, heading south cross-country from Waterton Lake. Pretty neat stuff, and more interesting if one knows the terrain at least somewhat. He is around and active; helps out the Yaak folks from time to time.

So, I'll look forward to more videos of WA state and northern PCT (or ?JMT).

Take care! Come back and visit us from time to time!

This is one of my favorite trip reports, so I figure I would bump it up.

Paul, I suspect you’ll be especially jazzed to see Joey’s most recent posting too:

I haven’t had a chance to watch the whole thing yet, but as part of this trip he apparently landed a two-night, dispersed camping permit up on the Sue Lake bench!

I know what I’m gonna be watching this week...

Thanks for the early Christmas present, Joey.

Merry Holidays, all!
