We have a permit for sept 11 and want to try to change/alter parts of it the day before. We will be in st mary's sept 9 and will be starting our backpack out of many glacier so will need to take the shuttle up there on sept 10. I have us down for the 9:15 shuttle out of st mary's and am wondering if that will give us enough time at the ranger's office. I know it will depend on how many people are there, etc. We are going to try to get there early am to get in line- how early do you think?

If things look tight for catching your shuttle, you can just leave the line at St. Mary and catch the shuttle. There is a Backcountry Desk at the Many Glacier Ranger Station that can handle your permit.
