Re: Zero Vacancies??

Here is a very late thank you for all your info. I found an Airbnb cabin near Essex. A little out of the way, but I’m looking forward to a little bit of a different experience this time. I also found a rental car through Centsible Rentals in Kalispell. It’s an older model, but less than a third of t...

Re: Zero Vacancies??

Thank you. I will keep a watchful eye on things. I am needing 2 separate rooms, because we are traveling with another couple. We like to stay at the more “economically priced” resorts and start/end our trip at West Glacier, due to proximity to the airport.

Zero Vacancies??

Are there really absolutely no vacancies in the park for the entire open season?

Re: Best route from Spokane to West Glacier

Thanks, guys, for the info. I think we will take the St. Regis route. AmTrak sounds wonderful, but we are already committed to renting a car in Spokane and have room reservations for Friday night in West Glacier. That is definitely something to consider for next year, though. Happy trails to you :D

Best route from Spokane to West Glacier

My husband and I will be arriving in Glacier on Friday, June 24 (woop, woop! ). This will be our 9th trip to the park, but our first time to fly into Spokane. What would be the best route to take? We would like the most direct route possible, since we will already have spent about 10 hours t...

Re: wolf-coyote hybrid?

We saw the same animal in early July. It ran into the road at Two-Dog Flat, then turned back and ran into the brush on the Lake side. By the time we got to where we saw it, there was no sign. It looked to be about the size of a German Shepherd. It was mostly dark-colored on its back with some silver...

Re: Laundry

Well thanks, guys, that's good news. Now I can pack light and see if I can keep from giving the airline 50 bucks.

Laundry

When staying at Rising Sun, where is the nearest place to do laundry? Do you have to be a registered guest of Johnson's or Swiftcurrent to use one of theirs?

Where can you "go"?

We will be in the park this Saturday for 7 days. We are planning to do some short, fairly easy hikes, but planning to turn several of them into a half-day or so with picnic lunches. Not to mention we're s-l-o-w. LOL. If they are available next week, the hikes I want to do that I'm not familiar with ...

Re: Rising Sun Motor Inn

We've stayed at both the Motor Inn and the cabins at Rising Sun. The Motor Inn rooms are a bit larger than the cabins and have painted walls (white-ish) while the cabins have wooden plank walls, so the cabins are darker. Both had 2 double beds. The sink in the cabins was in the room with the beds, b...

Oh, boy! I've been a teacher for 18 years. Let me make a list:

Imagine DeMiracle
Pajama (pronounced Pa-ja-may) because Mom couldn't think of a name and had just received a pajama gift for baby.
And my all-time favorite--Sh*thead ( pronounced Sha-theed)
