I was wondering why the page was not current on the park website. I have friends due there on the 23rd so hoping it
is open for them.

As always incredible trip report. Especially loved the winter shots which were pretty spectacular, however, I think I will stick to August :)
The keys would have freaked me right out, man you got lucky finding them!

Re: Slideshow 8/8/14 to 8/16/14

Selkie, This was indeed the year of the moose! Our first trip we did not see any other than one in the woods on the Iceberg trail. This trip, they were at Fishercap every time we went down. We also saw a big one walk into Josephine Lake on the boat back from Grinnell. The baby was at Fishercap! We s...

Re: Slideshow 8/8/14 to 8/16/14

Joybird, Yes indeed you feel very small. Ken staged that picture on the Highline so you could get a good perspective. Our weather was perfect if anything a bit hot as you know until the day we were to hike to the Chalet. Started the hike in the rain, and although the rain stopped shortly thereafter,...

Since I can't seem to get to the Trip Report I want to write, I thought I would see if this slideshow works for now.

Re: Added to the cairn in honor of Hockeyref

This was our first time doing the Hockeyref hike, and our first stay at the Granite Park Chalet. We too had a moment honoring Andy at the cairn, and added our rocks. Those stones this year indeed have a special meaning. Could not help but think about him numerous times during that hike. In general t...

Re: Just remembered this quote...

We were there when it happened. We walked into the Many Glacier Hotel and on the white board at the desk where they post the weather and the quote of the day this quote was on there with a RIP. I looked at my husband and said RIP?????? That is how we found out.

Re: CATTLE BARON SUPPER CLUB 8/9/13 AND 8/16/13

I know this place gets mixed reviews, but I personally have never had a bad meal there. Sure it is pricey, but every restaurant in Glacier is pricey IMO. 5 of us went and had a variety of entree's from Shrimp Pasta, Salmon to the Strips and my personal favorite the Ribeye. All entree's come with bre...

Re: How far are the ledges on the Highline (HockeyRef) trail

My husband's fear of heights is why we had not yet done the Highline Trail until this trip. He was fine. He surprised himself. I agree with Mikie that the exposure descending the Swiftcurrent Valley is much worse than the garden hose section in my opinion.

Piegan Pass flowers outstanding!

For anyone in the park this week it may already be too late, but the flowers on The Piegan Pass trail last week were like nothing I had seen in the park before they were outstanding. Bear Grass was in full bloom along the trail with the meadows on either side in full bloom. None of my pictures do it...
