Re: Goat Haunt 2021

That article wasn’t written very well. The US decision to keep the border closed does not affect US citizens. We are always allowed to cross the land border back into our own country. It does affect Canadian and Mexican citizens, allowing them to cross the land border into the US only for essential ...

Re: Goat Haunt 2021

I am glad they dropped the Covid test upon reentry because it seems entirely unnecessary. As a practical matter, I think they came to realize the long line ups that would occur at the airports and land borders if they had to test each person coming through. If anyone finds rapid molecular (not antig...

Re: Carthew-Alderson Traverse question

It will sure put a damper on my usual custom of popping down for a quick night or two.

Re: Carthew-Alderson Traverse question

There is ample parking at Cameron Lake if you arrive early. And since the trail ends right at the townsite, there are plenty of places to park. I think you’ll be fine!

Re: Goat Haunt 2021

As of now, to re-enter Canada, fully vaccinated Canadian citizens need a negative Covid test taken within 72 hours of crossing the border. In addition, after entering Canada, they must take another Covid test, and have a quarantine plan in case of a positive result. If you cross at the Sweetgrass/Co...

Re: 2021 Season Opening News

The Hidden Lake trail is closed at the visitor center and the Highline isn’t open yet, so maybe that has something to do with the sparse crowds. There’s really nowhere to hike up there right now.

Re: 2020 "Snaps" Around Glacier National Park

The weekend kinda sucked from a personal point of view. My brother-in-law, "Bobby", passed away at home Saturday night. My sister Vickie was with him. So I'm glad of that. Her daughter and family live just down the road. It was a long battle with lung cancer and other related issues. Last week afte...

Re: 2021 Transportation

We hike out from GUN on the 9th, then start our Chalet reservation on the 10th. So we will stay somewhere on the east side on the night of the 9th, then shuttle to Logan from St Mary on the 10th. We will be able to validate our return ticket for the 12th on the morning of the 10th. I would call the ...
