Re: Hole n the wall

Well, darn. I assumed the waterton ferry left earlier than mid morning or lunch. They haven’t posted 2024 ferry departure times yet; maybe they will add an earlier departure time for those of us who desire to do a long day hike starting from goat haunt. Let me know if you know of another boat ferry ...

Hole n the wall

So we are staying on Canadian side of border in an airbnb July 13-20. Hoping to take ferry from waterton to goat haunt for a long day hike up to brown pass and hole in the wall. Can anyone estimate likelihood of trail being open to hole in the wall that time of year? I would love to see hole in the ...

Iceberg lake closure

Noticed they closed iceberg lake trail from lake to ptarmigan junction yesterday due to carcass. Was hoping to do Shangri la and iceberg next week. I realize it’s impossible to know when it reopens but does anyone have insight and know how long a carcass typically shuts down a trail or know what typ...

Showers at swiftcurrent

Are there pay showers at swiftcurrent? We are staying in st. Mary and would like to eat dinner st mg hotel after hockey ref hike. If we can shower at swiftcurrent, that would save us drive time to st Mary. I know they used to have them but just wanted to check and make sure they still do. Thanks Dan

St. Mary shuttle

My wife and I and several others are hoping to do the hockey ref hike next week. We plan on eating breakfast at st. Mary lodge at 630, so I know we will miss the first shuttle departure from st. Mary to Logan pass at 7. What is the next departure time from st Mary and how often do they leave from st...

Re: Bears hump

Thanks, Al. Looks like crypts lake trail is open. May try that one if bears hump isn’t open. Was considering doing kootenai lakes trip/ bears hump in one day vs. crypts lake.

Thanks again!

Re: Belly river

Thanks for your responses. We may try it from customs to mg due to elevation gain being slightly less.
Thanks for your insight!

Belly river

Question for the board:

Wife and I and some other couples will be in the park early September. Considering belly river trail as a point to point hike: either enter at swift current and exit at customs beneath Canadian border or vice versa. What do you recommend?

Thanks,

Dan
