Thanks for giving us all our Glacier fix, Pete! I hope you have a great hike tomorrow full of wildlife sightings.

Tina

PS. Loved the video of you and your new furry friend.

Ptarmigan Cirque Hike, Kananaskis Country, Alberta

Thought I would share some photos with you from my hike yesterday to Ptarmigan Cirque in the Peter Lougheed Provincial Park, Kananaskis Country, Alberta. The trailhead is located at Highwood Pass off Highway 40. At only 6 kilometers in length, this hike would be a great stop for stretching your legs...

Really great photography, Al. Smoke, schmoke . . . You showed that the Park was beautiful despite the haze. Aren't you glad you didn't let it deter you?

I really enjoyed your trip report!

Re: 9/14 to 9/19: ELF-GLH-STO-FIF-GRN

Great trip report! September can definitely be a crapshoot, but it sounds like it could have been worse weather-wise, and at least you got to see the Park from a different perspective than most folks. I love the fall colors! Your pictures are great. Thanks for taking the time to share your trip with...

Thought you might like to see this, Pete. Glacier Park Magazine posted this video on their Facebook page. It was taken yesterday (Sunday) on the way to Siyeh Pass:

I can't imagine how it felt to watch them breaking into your own unit! I hope you get back everything important to you.

You've sure had your run of bad luck lately, Pete. You deserve a great hike up Piegan this weekend. Let us know how it goes!

Re: Two Weeks in August (8/18-31)

If you read this site, you'd think it was the worst hike in the park. It's as pretty as your pictures show. :) I was dreading this hike after reading about it here. But I think reading about its "brutality" was a good thing, because when I finished, I felt like I had accomplished a...

Re: First Glacier Trip: August 26 - August 31

Thanks for sharing your trip report! I'm glad you had some great hikes despite the smokey conditions. Don't worry about dropping back to your hiking "C List". It gives you another reason to come back to Glacier. And if I learned anything over the last few years of hiking in this park, it's...

Re: Itinerary from McDonald Lake-North Loop-Exit Logan Pass

I like your idea about having meals at Sperry. You will enjoy that! But Pete's right . . . You'd start with an uphill trudge to Sperry and then be passing through the the best part of the Gunsight Pass Trail without a stop. And don't forget that Reynolds Creek campground is in the heart of the new b...

Re: Current weather?

On another note, I'm glad the park is getting some rain, but on the other hand I hope our backpacker friends are doing okay in these conditions and I'd like to see them get some good hiking and camping weather.
Yes-- I've been thinking about them. I hope they are staying warm and dry.

Re: Many Glacier--Fishercap Lake Moose(s) :) and more...

OK-- so I walked into the Swiftcurrent lobby last Thursday after finishing the Iceberg Lake hike, and who is walking right toward me? Pete. We made eye contact, thankfully, or we would have walked right into each other. I boom out "Hi Pete!" And I almost threw in a hug, but then I realized...
