It's been a couple of days since I looked at rec.gov to see if anything had changed...

As of today, STO now has walk-up availability in August & September again.

Perhaps the deer have been dealt with using extreme prejudice.

Is the only way to check advance Backcountry Campsite availability through Recreation.gov? Paul & tibber, Yeah, I would definitely like to add another day. I could add COS instead of GAB which would increase the probabilities a bit. I will keep checking rec.gov too. People will change plans and at least some will cancel reservations which should lead to additional reservable openings...
