Thanks for this.
Is Phase 3 mentioned here the same as the federal guidelines phase 3 or Montana or ? That seems pretty severe if federal - federal phase 3 means pretty much open (can have gathering in large venues and visit assisted care facilities).

I found this over the weekend, interesting from a staffing and lodging viewpoint:
https://flatheadbeacon.com/2020/04/22/t ... reopening/

Not very optimistic on that based on eluding to maybe GTTS road only as priority ...

One would think hikers should be allowed closer to 'phase 1' criteria, as that is no different than going to the gym (allowed in phase 1) and I'd argue safer as it is outdoors and limited points of contact. Sure there are considerations for crowd control on front country and having staff/priority to clear the trails, put in bridges, setup/maintain the sites, and I'm sure I'm missing a lot more - but I'm sure us backcountry folk would pick tree laden trails and primitive sites over nothing at all. Probably not practical to be partially open depending on activity, which may go back to the phase 3 requirement.

There's going to be enormous pressure to open the park from the business community here in Flathead county.
How much good that will do is another matter.
We've escaped some of the worst consequences of the shutdown so far and things have begun to open up around here as of yesterday.
That said, the Flathead County economy relies heavily on the tourist business generated by Glacier National Park.
So there is, and will be, a lot of local pressure to get the park open asap.
Frustrating for everyone. :(
