Polebridge makes the international news

Polebridge is in the news.
I'm sorry to see this as it may bring many more people up to this quaint little town:

Yeah, I prefer it like it was last Saturday with ZERO people. Last summer it was like Disneyland, including the cheap souvenirs.
I just can't wait till they pave the North Fork road all the way to Polebridge, put in Putt-Putt golf and a wind powered cell tower with free WiFi. 8)

I prefer it that way too, Pete, with just a few people. Worst case scenario:

40 passenger tour busses making the run up to Polebridge with most of the people emerging from the bus and wanting baked goods from the Merc. I can just see them running out of huckleberry bearclaws and opening up boxes of "Little Debbie" stuff to make up the difference. Arrrrgh!
The mountains are calling and I must go.

I know the owners have to make a living, but I also prefer the way it was 15-20 yrs. ago when you went in for a bear claw and could have a conversation with the workers. Now they can barely keep up with all the orders. My favorite time there was getting a lunch sandwich and then sitting on the porch and enjoying it. Can’t do that now, too many people coming and going!
