Beginning July 17, the road to Bowman Lake will be closed on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and
Thursdays from 10 am - 12 pm and 1 pm - 3 pm for road repairs.

Thanks Tina!
Good spot.
A certain number of vehicles "diverted" from Bowman will wind up headed to Kintla...if for no other reason than:
Let's see what's going at Kintla Lake while we wait to try Bowman again...nice drive, might see a bear or a wolf...nothing else to do out here, blah blah.
So if you're going to Kintla during those days and times, you might want to keep that in mind.
Kintla Lake CG and day picnic area is "tiny" compared to Bowman Lake.
13-14 campsites and maybe 3-4 places to park for day use.
If
Ranger Lyle is there, you best not "fudge" on the rules....like parking in a no parking spot, walking on plants, trash. etc. etc.
Ranger Lyle is NOT shy about reminding you what the rules are!
Parking at the BOU trailhead can be tough too when it's busy.
One year a while back I had friends follow me to the BOU trailhead(maybe 1/4 mile before the Kintla CG.)
I was spotting a car for a couple chatters except there was ZERO parking available at the BOU trailhead when we arrived.Don't recall time of day. It wasn't much of an issue back then.
Ultimately, I did get their car spotted. But...
Now, the "new reality" everywhere in GNP is:
Go Early
