PS
I bought 2 years worth of replacement protection since I can break anything.
See if your local library offers e-books! I've had a Nook for 4-5 years, and use it exclusively to read free books from the library (or those in the public domain that have been converted).

This is how we get the majority of our books. When I am on Amazon and see a book, I put it on my Wish List then check with the library. When the library finally gets the eBook in, I delete it from my Wish List.

I looked at the Big Agnes tents w/LEDs with Curiosity. If I compared them correctly, the LEDs increase the tent price $50.

On our last trip TNTammy and I used a Luci light:

It cost $15 and ours weighs 3.6 ounces. They're also available from Amazon so you can get free shipping w/ a $35 order (MPowerd charges high shipping).

It's solar powered and I attached to the back of my pack while we hiked. We used it for 8 nights in a row and it never ran out of power. It provides enough light for campsite tasks.

What I like about it vs a headlamp is that it provides area lighting. Also I don't get blinded every time TNTammy looks at me while her headlamp is on. :D

Oh My!
Tsk tsk Michael. That was Tammy's smile blinding you, not her headlamp. 8)

I've found Tammy's smiles to be pretty spectacular (and I've only experienced them over e-mail!).

IME, that gal IS sunshine. 8)

Just sayin'.

(And now, back to our original topic....)

There's nothing wrong with that tent light feature---if you like it, trust that it won't break on the 2nd trip out--and willing to pay the additional cost.
I don't need general lighting since I camp alone. And over the last 50+ years, I've learned how to make do with various forms of head lamps and flashlights.
Both head lights and flashlights have improved enormously due to far better battery technology and LEDs. Far lighter and brighter.
I love them.
So at the end of the day, I guess it's all good as the kids say. 8)
