Sierra Designs Lightning 2 tent, practically new.

Post by mattB »

I was looking to upgrade my backpacking tent last summer and "accidentally" bought two tents, so I have an extra. I was on ebay and bid on two different Sierra Designs tents and ended up winning them both.

I used this one once for a two night trip, worked fine. I liked both tents but this one is a single door and the other one was a two door so I decided to keep the other one, so this ones extra.

Its rated as a two person tent, but I think you'd have to be pretty friendly, its roomy for one person. I'm 5'11 and it works fine for me, but I think if you were much taller it might be short. Its roughly 4.5lbs, two poles. Its NOT the Lightning XT which I think is new for 2009. This ones khaki and white, with a khaki and yellow rain-fly.

I've seen a couple on ebay recently go for around $150-175, Found a few others online going for $199.
I paid $166 for it last summer. I'll let it go for $85 if you pay the shipping (I'm guessing around $10-12 at least thats what they're charging on ebay).

Here's a link with a pretty good description and specs.

Paul, it was a very short war. Jen pretty much took charge and prevailed. Or, as my brother would have put it: she kicked A$$ and took names later!! We love JEN!! :!:

An excellent example of "herd mentality"... I remember when "everyone" rushed out to buy station wagons too....BTW, can you fit your feet inside the tent???? teehee 8)
