The Ultimate Trail Bar

Post by Marmotman »

I feel sorry for this topic with nothing in it yet so I thought I'd prime the pump. I have had a 10 year quest for the perfect trail bar to make at home and tote along for lunches or snacks on the trail. I've tried quite a few recipes with modifications but I'm still not there yet. Anybody out there find the holy grail yet?

I'd love something that doesn't include nuts. I'm highly allergic.

There's a pretty good recipe floating around here somewhere for trailbars... maybe under GORP? AHHA! A quick search netted me this:
http://glacier.nationalparkschat.com/ph ... =15#p21952

There's also another link in the same thread to: http://www.backpacker.com/cgi-bin/forum ... 22;hl=gorp

Maybe some more ideas??
