Thanks for sharing your trip report with us! Looks like you had a great trip with decent weather. It made my day to see Anita wearing the hat I made! :D

Wasn't your son supposed to be there with you?

Thanks Joyce!, I have to get to work on that now. We were so blown away by the Teton's, I just had to write it first.

Thanks Pete!, Judging from your adventures, it would be right up your ally.

Thanks Tina!, Ya, he had hoped to go, but life and work and all that got in the way. I was hoping you would notice the hat :)

Wow! Awesome trip. I wish I'd accepted your invitation. My trip to Glacier was disappointing. The weather was nasty and a neck problem I've had in the recent past flared up.

Doug,

Thanks for the trip report on the Tetons! Just wondering what your opinion is about Winds Vs Tetons Vs Glacier? I want to try the Winds next year but your pictures of the Tetons look enticing. I did a little hiking out there before (Cascade/Paintbrush divide as a day hike). I found it pretty great but not the same solitude/wilderness feel as Glacier.

Hey Paul.
Great to hear from you.
I know how much you love Glacier and I am sure you would love the Teton's or the Wind's. You will find more solitude in the Wind's but the high altitude cuts down on the wildlife sightings. Lots of wildlife in the Teton's and the backcountry is pretty quiet compared to GNP. With Paintbrush /Cascade you choose the busiest area for day hikers. Both areas are challenging and offer endless opportunities for off trail and remote travel.
Thanks for response

Woah, quiet you! I don't want my wife reading this comment and getting the crazy idea that I can't harass her about hiking trips year around.

Doug, I got through part 1. Great writing and great pictures. Was that the tram at Jackson Hole ski area? That tram takes you quite a ways so I'd think it would make quite a dent in trip mileage (and quite a dent in the wallet).

I'll get to the second two parts soon.

Thanks Jay.
I always enjoy your colorful trip reports too.
Ya...that tram was expensive for a 15 min ride. It does save some mileage, but i think i would prefer to hike up Granite Canyon instead. The scenery is beautiful throughout.
