I found some Glacier photos through the NP FB page, took one from nineteen eighteen (afaik), bumped up the contrast a bit and wondered if anyone would notice the ton of snow and ice. Most of the photos were geared towards making the park more popular. With the park SO popular, maybe we need some anti-advertising out there...a motorcyclist on a dirt bike with Wilber in the background, garbage floating around St. Mary, ya know, that kind of thing.

Just joking with the first line, but not the last line. Hey, for the blues fans out there, Frampton's latest (All Blues--after the Miles Davis tune) is a great one.

Most of the old photos I've seen of the glacier were taken from a distance. This one really gives some perspective on how much the glacier has receded, since most of us have taken photos from this same area.
When I saw your title, I was expecting to open the thread and find a photo from September.
Alright
This was taken in 2018. It was pretty smoky
It's interesting that the snow on Gould hasn't changed much. Gem glacier is a little smaller.
Grinnell? Well what can I say
Jay, is that the wall that you claim to never have captured well? I think you have finally succeeded. I like the contrast with the black and white shot.
And here Is a photo of Jay in action. Judging by the solo dead tree, it looks like he’s taking the photo he posted above.
Teapot, yes indeed, that is the wall I've never captured well. At the time, I didn't notice that the light was unusual with a dark background (at least that I remember). I'll try a couple more ideas with the processing, but yeah, it has some drama to it. Your shot is interesting since it was shot within a second or two of mine. Interesting contrast.
Boy, it seems like we never had an Indian summer and it's just been cold this fall. I don't think it got above freezing today and the bike ride tonight was pretty damn chilly with a NW wind. I might be able to ski next week if the body allows it. I don't think I should ride the motor cycle to work tomorrow with at temp of 16F.
