Thanks for posting Pete. Really enjoyed your pictures and videos. It looks like videos 4 and 5 are the same, and are both part 4?

Last year I walked over to the saddle between Reynolds and Dragon Tail, but stopped there. Perhaps this year I'll do what you just did .... :D

Can't wait to get to GNP...a little worried about the wildfires, though....

Hi Pete, thanks for filming and narrating! Beyond the great views, I really enjoyed the stops where you showed the upcoming route and identified all the surrounding mountains and glaciers.

Pete-
Thanks for taking the time to do the video on your Dragons Tail hike. Really gave me a sense of what it is like. Also really appreciated your pointing out the various mountains and trails when you were on the summit. Looked like a perfect day. Hidden Lake looked amazing from up there. Thoroughly enjoyed it and appreciate all of your posts.

Also want to extend my sympathy on the recent loss of your brother-in-law Bobby.

Pete,

Stunning videos. We've tried it but never that far. Those skinny little places may have deterred. Gotta know your limits! Truly enjoyed the videos and maybe we'll see you in September.

Craig, Cindy, Zozeppelin, Ron and Tammy!!

Special THANKS to Cindy whom I have neglected recently!
Sorry Cindy.

Thanks for all the nice comments. I'm a little behind in answering posts.
Work has gone crazy. Like most of the country, we simply cannot find and keep good employees.
Yesterday I had to get up at 0500 and go in and "shake" the machines which is usually done by the night girls.
They really aren't up to speed on doing the shake, and I was the only person available to do it yesterday.
Lot of cash involved and paperwork as well.
And Monday Jaybird gave signs that the transmission is finally dying after 250,000+ miles.
July kind of sucks so far. The timing of all these events has made my life crazy.
Oh well thanks again. September won't come soon enough.

Pete,
Your videos captured the the A to Z of the Dragons Tail Hike. Well done, friend!
It made me long to get back out there.
As a footnote to those who viewed it, I have did this hike with Pete. I was a little worried about height and exposure, but like Pete said just take your time and watch what you are doing and it will be fine. I didn't have much trouble with the spine part to the finish. Pete, I think we did it in 2017 and probably the toughest part for me was crossing a snowfield along Reynolds shoulder. I think I avoided it by going up and around it.

BTW, Pete is a great guide!

Thank you Ken. Fun day wasn't it?
Yeah, that last little snow field(it's in this recent video) is not one you want to fall on.
It's very narrow. Last Saturday is was only about 15 yards wide, but it is pretty steep.
It would have been easy to go up and around it but I like walking it. Keeps me sharp 8)
This year with the heat we've had, and the heat coming over the next week, it'll be gone in a week.

Great Guide? I know what you mean and thank you! :D
However, I'd prefer to known as a "hiking companion" 8) ...maybe even "for hire" sometime in the future.
I think the word "guide" has some legal implications. :?
Maybe explore that topic another time . :)

Yup, to clear this up to anyone reading this. Pete is a fun and knowledgeable hiking partner who I consider a friend.
He is not a guide in any legal sense of the word. Sorry about my poor
choice of words.
Wow, that was a fun day we did the hike. I think we had about the same weather you had the other day.
I want to do that hike again next time I’m out there.

One more thing, Pete does talk to everyone.

Ken, I was teasing you a bit regarding the legal issues around the word "guide".
If I'm not receiving any money or in kind compensation, I can "guide" all I want.

I feel for people coming this week beginning tomorrow...
Temps in the valley will be in the upper 90's and it's pretty smoky here in the valley.

Strange that in mid July it'll be hotter than in Central Florida---where I'm headed tomorrow at 0610.
I'll still log in from Florida.
Stay cool. Pray for rain.

I did ShangriLa with Dan Lowery and his 11 year old nephew Monday.
The sky was pretty clear Monday AM. It progressively got hazier throughout the day.
I drank ~4 liters of water doing. I cannot do that hike again in conditions like this past Monday.

This 2 image pano of Iceberg Lake was made about 12:45PM Monday 7-26-2021.
