That's hilarious. Gives new meaning to your tag line "The mountains are calling and I must go."

I'm liking the animal photos!
Here's a short (36 second) video I took of mountain goats playing near Logan pass:

I love baby goats.
At first I thought the 5 goats in your video were the same 5 goats in mine!

Turns out your goats were 2014, mine 2015. Same general area. One nanny had twins, the other just one kid.
A note: I was being facetious when I made the remark about them "being too young for that".
"That" being while the baby goats were "playing", the "mounting" behavior is all about establishing "dominance"...same as dogs do.
These goats may be rivals at some point. As you'll see, establishing dominance begins very early on.

The one kid is really hilarious.

More for goat fans :D

Long one. 16minutes.

Pete you have some very good videos of goats! Good close up of the sharp horns on one of them. The goats seem so mild mannered that it is easy to forget that they could inflict some damage if they were to feel trapped or endangered in some way. The grizz on the Grinnelll Glacier trail look too close for comfort! I could imagine your heart rate went up when you saw these bears! Looks like there was not anywhere for you to go here. Glad they ran past you!

Thanks CalicoTraveler!
I love taking pictures and video of animals.
The bigger animals like bears sheep and goats are usually, but not always, more "interesting" or "fun" to photograph and video.
Like the "photobomb" the golden mantled squirrel pulled on me below 8)

This was at Piegan Pass September 24th.This lil guy was crawling all over my pack, me, everywhere! His sharp lil claws gave me goosebumps as he climbed up my shirt LOL!!

I love the way he's peeking over my hat!

What a great pic of you and the squirrel!
I really think you have a way with animals. Bonnie and Clyde really are attracted to you too. :D

You are most welcome Carol!
And your compliment made my day....which wasn't exactly a banner day at work either.

Thanks calicotraveler !!
Those lil squirrels are fun, but not easy to photograph. They won't stay still for very long!! :)
I hope you and others are OK with me posting all these pics.
I have more someplace people might find interesting or maybe whimsical .

As for me and animals in general.

Well....I'm certainly no "animal whisperer" by any stretch.
That said, I've been around animals all my life. Growing up in Florida, I caught all sorts of animals.
Some I kept briefly and turned loose. Some I had for years--like my pet crow Joe-Joe.

My parents didn't let me keep everything I caught though. No squirrels, raccoons, or bobcats---anything that could be rabid.
Lots of "reptiles" in Florida and I caught most all of them at one time or another growing up.

We lived on a lake that I began "exploring " at a very early age--8-9 years old--often alone.
I've bitten more times than I can remember by small alligators, turtles, and especially snakes(non poisonous ones).
I didn't usually keep the "biters" too long. Getting bitten gets to be a nuisance after a while.
My Dad wouldn't let me keep any of the poisonous snakes I caught--probably a wise decision 8)

Anyhow, I digress....

Close your eyes Jen !!

After a Memorial Day weekend backpack, I was hiking back to Bowman Lake car CG with an Australian brother and sister when I saw this little garter snake.
The Aussies were startled at my quick catch since most snakes in Oz are deadly poisonous---not wise to pick them up.
The little bugger proceeded to bite me straight away. The common garter snake is a real "biter" in my experience.
They aren't good for pets although they will usually eat well in captivity.
Small snakes like this one have needle sharp teeth but can't do any real harm.

I have 100's of pictures of ravens. Here's a few I like. Ravens are very intelligent partly because they are intensely curious animals.
I have a lot of fun watching them as they explore the world around them.

Here's a picture of Clyde. One way ravens show "emotion" is by fluffing their feathers in different ways. Not real happy about something in this shot
Image

A few moments before the above picture. Here he is very curious about the camera lens. He can probably see his reflection in the lens.

This is a picture of "Chatty Boy" a juvenile raven I saw at Logan Pass one morning in August 2014. Chatty Boy was VERY curious about my camera, peering into the lens and pecking at it.

Pete, you have to hold those snakes just behind their heads so they can't bite you. Ouch!

Have those ravens ever bitten you? They act quite tame but sometimes birds will become annoyed and bite....I have had parakeets as pets and sometimes (for no reason I could tell) they would bite. And in spite of the small beaks, could really inflict quite a bit of pain.

We all know snakes will bite. No surprise there.
