Thanks Tina! :D

I'm going back through some old images to see what I might like printed.
A frame and print shop moved to a location across the street from where I work.
It's run by an older fellow and his wife, has been in business for 20+ years, and his prices seem reasonable.

I'll add some more here that I like, meantime...
The original of this one looks very sharp[to me] and should print well.
One can see from L_R parts of Clements, Gould, Bishops Hat, Pollock, Piegan, Going-To-The-Sun, and Heavy Runner mountains

I like those Saturday afternoon pictures.

I am curious about that small yellow cloud on the right side. It must have been at just the right level relative to the sun. That had to be a different level than the white clouds in the same part of the picture.

Yes, that little cloud on the far right was much closer and low on the horizon.
There were four, maybe more, groups of clouds at varying distances and altitudes in that picture.
I thought the different clouds made for an interesting picture.

Thx Bill

pete

PS

"Clouds" are a big reason I like the panorama above aside from being a perspective that 99.9% will never have.
Not many people snowshoe out on the un-named ridge that far when the Logan Pas area is still snow covered...
And fewer still do it on a spectacular day like June 26, 2016.
Of those that do get out there on a nice day, even fewer yet will get an image of that quality...imo 8)
So I feel that panographic is a pretty good image and I'm lucky to have made it.

Pete,

Great scenic photos of the Park and great goat photos. It doesn't get any better than that!

Thanks for posting those.

Thanks Lyman!

Here's another picture of Mr. Lincoln I found from that day.

Mr Lincoln surveying his domain from just a few yards from where the Gunsight Pass trail crosses Lincoln Pass.
Mt Jackson is in the background.

Image

Lake McDonald November 17th 2018.

Been busy at work lately so I hadn't been out to Lake McDonald in a couple weeks.
Saturday was the first nice day in a while so I popped out late in the afternoon and got a few images.

On a sad note...
Bonnie and Clyde May 25th 2018
Image
I have not seen Bonnie and Clyde in nearly a month. I have a sad feeling they're dead.
Most likely from an owl or the eagles. I doubt they were "hazed" away by the park staff. They all liked B&C.
Had another pair of ravens taken their territory, I would have seen or heard them.

The lake wasn't quite "glass smooth" but pretty good for reflections. People and kids kept coming down to the shore line. Thankfully one of the parents asked the children not to throw rocks in the water in front of me 8)
Image

The couple on the far right in the image above finally moved for this image. Light was changing quickly late in the day.
Image

I really like this one with my favorite tree. I managed to frame it just right....imo 8) The tree framed the scene the way I wanted without blocking Stanton and Vaught on the left and the two peaks on the right. If you look closely you can barely make out Mt Gould far in the distance. Gould is easier to see in the original RAW image.
Image

This is a two frame pano using my 49 year old Minolta Rokkor lens. This was at 5:40PM sun was down behind mountains.
Image

Light changed quickly. This was from same beach 8 minutes later at 5:48PM. I like this one a lot.

Pete, indeed sad if B&C are gone. :( Your pics, videos and stories of them always brought a smile to my face.

Thank you Ralph. I was lucky to get that image as the light was changing quickly at that point.
Originally, I was set up in another spot until a couple guys walked down to the beach in front of me to take pics.
So I moved to where that shot was taken. Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good. 8)

I hope they aren't gone, but it's not looking good at this point.
It's possible one or the other died(natural causes or otherwise). And then the other left.
Not much to do but wait and see if they ever show up again.
I'm just happy that I got to "hang out" with B&C and photograph them for the last 5 years. :)

I particularly like the first two photos, but the third doesn't have the dock or people. There's a just an unusual look to the light in the first two.

Sorry about B&C. Maybe the fire scared them off?

Regarding the first two images above(people/no ppl)...
They were taken at 16:49. The sun was still above the Apgar mountains and the sky a nice blue.
I had a 50/50 ND .6 filter on my 16mm lens. Maybe that accounts for the "unusual light"---in the sky area?

Here is the first image I took just before the two above. More dock and no lil "peninsula". I just panned(all these were shot from a tripod today) the camera slightly to the right for the two shots above.

Image

Same image just as it came out of the camera. The only adjustment I made was lightening the shadow areas slightly(Check the Stanton burn area) and darkening the highlights slightly (A little darker sky and cloud bottoms) And frankly, that's pretty much all I ever do. Sometimes I'll bump the saturation up a little. Not a lot because I don't care for what I think of as that "over saturated" look. "Neon" greens, etc. I'm not knocking that look, I just don't care for it in my pics. 8)
Image

All the images in this post are "uncropped", full frame images. I thought this one looks better cropping the top and bottom a bit.
Image

This is the "edited" image from above.
Image

Same image as it came from the camera. This one was taken at 17:25 from a "beach" down the road where my fave tree is.
The sun was below the ridge line and light light much different from the pictures at McDonald Lodge. This is too dark. So again I lightened up the whole image some. I think I bumped up the saturation slightly to try and get some color in the rocks, which really didn't do much.

Thank you Carol. I have always appreciated your comments and criticism.
You, EarMountain, JayW, and others have been a huge help in improving my photography.
Maybe that's why this topic has had over a 1000 hits in just the last 3 days

It was a nice day. I'm truly blessed to live where I can pop out to the park when it's nice, or not so nice 8)
I wish that more folks had the wherewithal to visit out here during the long "off season".

There are days in the winter that are just absolutely stunningly beautiful.
Many times the day after a significant snow storm and a strong high pressure system has set in...
The air is soooooo calm, clear and crispy, the snow soooo white, the environment is sooooo still and quiet.
Those are the days I want to get out there this year.

I've thought about trying xcountry skiing again. Take lessons this time 8)
If I can do that, it'll allow me access to a lot more places.
We'll see.

pete

Other than being resized, these images haven't had anything much done to them.
I believe they could be improved some in Photoshop.
They were taken with my little Sony HX10 March 27th 2015. There wasn't the slightest breeze. Wish I had my A77II back then!
The original Images are small at 4896x3672 pixels(18.2meg sensor), but the well focused ones print quite well.

These are great shots and could be really dramatic in B&W.
