Yay! Warming up!

Post by Selkie »

Temps above 70 on both E and W sides of the Park, per webcams.
Sinopah has considerably less snow on its flanks than 2-3 days ago.
And a poster on FB indicated snow is still up to ca. 5 feet for last mile of trail up to Sperry Chalet.
Dare one hope -- ?
30 days!

The forecast for the next week or so looks pretty good for melting. I'm not sure how much melting can happen, I've got roughly 3 weeks before my trip.

Yes it is looking good here today for melting and the forecast is more of the same :)
I've been sitting outside reading today, getting some sun, and cleaning gear.
My windows face Big Mountain here in Whitefish and the snow is rapidly disappearing. Same over on Columbia Mt. Trouble is there's just so *&$^%& much of it, especially up high.
Keep ur fangers crossed :)

And I saw some folks poling and paddling L. McDonald the other day, so that is promising.

I agree with Ralph, you don't want it to warm up to quick too soon and have all the vegetation dry out. That's not good either, then the fire danger increases and we've seen in the past what can happen.
