Glacier posts Stage II Fire Restrictions

Glacier National Park is instituting Stage II fire restrictions effective at midnight tonight. That's Thursday night July 27, 2017.

...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM NOON FRIDAY TO 6 AM MDT
SATURDAY...

* Affected area:
Fire Zone 105 (Flathead/Glacier Park).
Fire Zone 106 (West Lolo).
Fire Zone 107 (Salish and Kootenai Reservation).
Fire Zone 108 (East Lolo).
Fire Zone 109 (Bitterroot).
Fire Zone 110 (Deerlodge/West Beaverhead).

* Impacts/Timing: A dry cold front will create dry and breezy
conditions beginning on the ridge tops early Friday afternoon,
then into the lower elevations in the late afternoon and
evening. Wind and dry conditions will likely occur on the
midslopes and ridges well into Friday night.

* Winds: West winds 15 to 20 mph with gusts to 30 mph through
exposed areas. Peak winds are expected between 6 to 9 pm.

* Minimum humidities: 8 to 18 percent.
