Whitefish Mountain Resort Dec 19 / Jan 20 Pics

Even though Glacier is the focal point, the Flathead and the surrounding area presents boundless activities, talk about it here.

Here are some pics from Whitefish Mountain Resort (Big Mountain) last week, including some good inversion pics with the Glacier peaks in the distance.

seems? a lot of snow. I love the snow drenched trees and the cloud layers were pretty cool looking.

These pictures were from the last couple of days in December and the first few days in January, when the snow was a little below average, especially near the base due to the warmer than normal temperatures.

In the last week (after I took these pictures) they've had an additional 3 feet of snow at the summit, for a total of 139" at the summit to date. (Average is 300" for the full winter.)

The "snow ghost" trees at the top continue to build ice over the winter from the clouds and freezing fog. They're beautiful.
