Columbia Falls Lodging

Post by poky5mom »

I am trying to get reservations finalized for next summer - I am trying to get a room in Columbia Falls for the Friday night before we fly out - the Super 8 is already booked - has anyone stayed at any of the other motels in Columbia Falls?

I know you don't want a fleabag, but what sort of place you looking for? Whitefish OK? It's only 15-20 mins from the airport.
I made a list for NDJason with phone numbers etc. for all of the motels and phone numbers between CFalls and West Glacier.
If he doesn't have still have it, I'll do another one.

There's 5-6 places that are decent enough for youI believe.

Try this one. I drive by it all the time. It's short walking distance to Montana Coffee Traders. It always looks neat and clean.

I stayed at the Moss Mountain Inn this past summer, not exactly in Columbia Falls (on North Fork Rd), but it's close. Nice B&B. Though I have to ask why Columbia Falls?

I guess I think it's just a little closer to the airport than the motels in Kalispell - I did get a room at the SUper 8 anyway their website said they had no rooms so I decided to do it the old fashioned way and I called them! They did have a room

There are actually a couple motels on the eastside of Kalispell, that would be just about as close to the airport as the ones in Columbia Falls. I've never stayed at them, but drove by last summer.
Blue and White Motel - independent, older, looked ok. http://www.bwmotel.com/
La Quinta - would be a little closer to the airport.
There's also a couple little motels in Hungry Horse or some of those other little towns between Columbia Falls and Glacier that might work.

I would not stay in the Blue and White if they paid me, made me breakfast and filled my car up everyday! When I was in the process of moving here, we stayed there quite a few times, but I would not stay there anymore, far to many problems with that place, drugs, prostitution and a couple of murders, it will be a few years until they get that place cleaned up, so if I was looking based on what I know, that one would be scratched off my list!

I've worked for a small family owned casino chain for the last eight years, one of which is located about a block from the motel mentioned above. Runners at all our joints, all of whom I know or knew at the time, have been robbed multiple times at gunpoint since I'ved worked there. Our joint in the area near the motel above has also been burglerized twice in the last few years. I put out the trash in the mornings because we've told the girls to lock up at the 2AM closing and not to go out for anything after closing (until they go home). Sad but a sign of the times. Stuff like this is why I don't recommend people stay in town. This particular area is not the only neighborhood having problems :(

EDIT 10/28/2010

Just to clarify. Not all the runners at all the places have been robbed. However, all the places have been robbed at gunpoint since my employment, including two places no longer part of the group.

Wow, didn't know the Blue and White was like that.
It looked ok from the outside driving by.
That was where my parents had their honeymoon!!
That may have been back before the problems started!
