Yaak, Montana

Even though Glacier is the focal point, the Flathead and the surrounding area presents boundless activities, talk about it here.

Kelly (continued from thread above)...
yes, February was BEAUTIFUL! The roads were scary but other than that it was awesome. What a place to snowshoe...no one around for miles.

Who are Grizz and Sheila???

Have you read Rick Bass's books?

YAAK

Grizz & Sheila own/owned the bar down the highway a bit. A big sign says "stop by and say HI to Grizz & Shela" so we did! What a treat!

I think the cabin had one of his books that I glanced through....worth a read???

Hmmm...I wonder if that's the mercantile? Or maybe they bought the lodge that has a dining room and bar...we stayed there once but I can't remember the name of it!

Anyway, Rick Bass is one of my favorite writers...that's how we discovered Yaak in the first place. He has since become a friend. I highly recommend his books...I always tell people to start with "Winter: Notes From Montana". If you like it I could recommend others.
