Their itinerary is freaking near perfect! Should make for a fantastic trip report. Just goes to show that you can get zilch in the permit lottery and still walkup and get most peoples dream route! 8)

Jen,
This is what they were able to get as I remember it from MissGuinness

In at Boulder Pass TH located just before Kintla Lake car CG
UPK
BOU
HOL
JAN
KOO
STO
GLH
GLH
COS
ELF
Out at Swiftcurrent via Ptarmigan Tunnel

I watched them put on their packs after loading them up.
God bless 'em both 'cause them's wuz some HEAVY packs. :)

Heff And MissGuinness are truly nice people and dedicated backpackers.
I figured they would get something decent but when they told me what they got I was dumbfounded.
I'm thinking there have been some cancellations due to the fires.
Like Jen said....Don't give up. You cAn get good itineraries doing walkups.
Anyway, I'm glad they got what they wanted. Those two love those long hikes in the northern part of the park.

MissG was excited about the 2 nights at GLH which allows them a day at Sue Lake bench.

That really is a great itinerary. It's nice to have a little break there with 2 nights at GLH and time for a day hike to Margaret lake:-)
Pete, you might be right about the cancellations...I've been watching the availability site the last few days and there seems to be less "black" thank usual for this time of year (a lot of open spots)..

Heff & Miss G are like backpacking super heroes. I went with them for a few days on their 11 day trip a couple of years go. Their packs were huge and they had no trouble keeping the pace.

I'm glad they got a good itinerary although I'm not really surprised by what they got. The North Fork always seems easier to get something good.

It was a dream route just not a dream trip. You all will have to wait for the trip report for the details.
