St Mary Campground NPS

Post by Blossiem »

Firstly a big thankyou to everyone who answered our previous questions about Many Glacier Campground. We will be coming over from England in July and hiring a small RV (20 ft) - tent camping is out of the question! We have decided that whilst we would like to try and get into Many Glacier we will book a few nights at St Mary first. We have been looking at the NPS campground reservation site. Firstly we can see that there are three loops A, B and C - does anyone have a preference for which loop? In addition it would appear that not all sites have fire pits and also the dimensions perplex us! What is the difference between drive way length and site length? Also, some say site access as 'Drive in' and then also say Drive way entry 'Pull Through'. We thought we knew what these both meant until we saw them both listed for the same site! Is anyone able to explain these - we cannot find any definitions on the NPS site. With very many thanks.

Hello! Where in England do you live?

I can answer a few of your questions. The driveway length is important to know if you have one of the very long RV's. If your RV is 50 feet long and the driveway is only 40, you have a problem. The site width will just give you an idea of site size.

The site access just tells you if it is a car site or a walk-in or bike site. If the site access says "drive in" it means it is a car/rv site. The driveway entry will say pull-through if you can do just that, pull all the way through, or it would say "back in" if you could not pull through. With an RV just make sure you reserve a pull through site (it looks like most of them are pull through). If you have other questions just let us know! I hope this helps!
