Boat Reservations ?

Transportation can be a challenge in Glacier. If you have ideas, offer ride shares, or used a commercial service that you were happy with, let everyone know. Also, ask questions about road information, or share road information you may have.

Boat Reservations ?

Post by Hoot »

How early do I need to make a reservation for the boat rides across Swiftcurrent and Josephine Lakes? Mid July, mid week. Will the previous day be soon enough or do I need to book even earlier? Thanx

I don't think there's a need for long-term reservations. The previous day probably is fine. Maybe even the same day.

Note, I've never taken this boat, but it runs often throughout the day, so there are plenty of opportunities to catch it.

If your intending on taking the first boat in the morning for the Grinnell Glacier Hike I'd reserve my dates in advance as that boat is usually packed.

I'll just add, the boat operators don't leave folks stranded at the end of the day. The last boat tries to make sure everyone who wants a ride back over water is accounted for.
The first boat out in the morning usually has the ranger-led hike on it (yes? not sure whether daily), and for that reason if no other is quite popular.
