I found this photo and was wondering if anyone knew where it was? I have no clue. Kind of reminds me of the Grinnell Glacier trail but I know it isn't.

My first thought was Moraine Lake in the Ten Peaks region in Banff... but I can't find any confirming pictures from that angle

The lake looks a lot like Lake O'Hara in Yoho

Good call.
Here's a different view, which gives a much different perspective on the crazy drop-off ledge.

Yes, that is part of the legendary Alpine Circuit trails in the Lake O'Hara region of Yoho Natl Park. This circuit involves 3 separate "high" segments that loop into the Oesa and Opabin basins above O'Hara: the Wiwaxy/Huber, Yukness, and All Souls. These have junctions with the various "low" trails into those basins, so that one can make all kinds of day-hike loopish routes, involving all 3, or just 1 or 2 of the high routes.

Many people who have hiked / backpacked many thousands of trail miles all around the world consider Lake O'Hara to be the best scenery in all of North America, if not the world. (IF - a big "if" - you're lucky enough to be there when it is not raining & socked in by clouds.....) Yes, surpassing even Glacier, some say (I need at least 2-3 more trips to Glacier, plus one from O'Hara over Goodsir Pass to the Rockwall, before I am willing to weigh in on that comparison).

I am going to have to add that to my bucket list. Looks like you need to hike or take a bus to get to the lake and the hiking from there.

It is definitely close to the top if not at the top of the prettiest hikes I have done. If you don't want to walk the 9 miles in to the lake you can catch one of two buses each day. You have to make reservations at 6:00 on the day they open reservations each spring. We got ours and within an hour the entire summer was booked.
Here is my video. There are a lot of better ones out there.

I don't have a lot of time to play with this summer, but this thread makes me want to try for a couple nights at Lake O'Hara! Only a couple hour's drive for me. Thanks for sharing.

Exactly.
Great, another place to add to a long list of places we hope to get to.

A thrilling* place to visit!
http://www.pc.gc.ca/eng/pn-np/bc/yoho/ ... ohara.aspx

For bus plus camping, reservations open April 1 for 3-months-in-advance to the day.
For bus only, reservations open April 20 for entire season.

If you can't get either, the initial (dirt) road walk of 7 miles is not too onerous; the last bus, ca. 4 p.m., will take everybody back for ca. $10 Canadian.
Nearby sleeping spots are Whiskey Jack Hostel, and near it, the Takkakaw Falls walk-in campground (they provide a wheelbarrow to haul your stuff).

(*When I visited, campers were sitting around listlessly in waterlogged tents.)

As I recall, the Parks Canada info center in Field can check for a cancellation if you suddenly decide you want to camp at Lake O'Hara.
